Work across many Azure services from an assistant through one local server that uses your existing Azure sign-in.
Best for
Azure developers and operators who want an assistant to inspect and change resources, or read logs, without switching to the portal or hand-writing CLI commands.
This server runs on your machine. The publisher's guide has the exact command and settings for your client.
Before you connect
Operations run with your Azure RBAC permissions, and the README warns that autonomous or misconfigured clients may perform destructive actions. Use least-privilege roles and add safeguards before connecting an assistant.
.NET package (NuGet) · stdioAzure.Mcp@3.0.0-beta.48
npm package · stdio@azure/mcp@3.0.0-beta.48
Python package (PyPI) · stdiomsmcp-azure@3.0.0b48
The Azure MCP Server puts many Azure services behind a single server, so an assistant can list, inspect and change resources, query logs and generate Azure CLI commands from plain-language requests. It runs on your machine, distributed as npm, NuGet, PyPI and Docker packages and as MCPB bundles, and it relies on your existing Azure credentials, for example from az login. A remote deployment on Azure Container Apps is described for clients that need HTTP. The registry lists 3.0.0-beta.48 pre-release packages, while the README says Azure MCP Server 2.0 is generally available. Telemetry to Microsoft is on by default and can be switched off with an environment variable. Calls carry your Azure role permissions, so scope them before connecting an assistant.
Authenticate to Azure before starting the server, for example with az login. Credentials are handled through the Azure Identity SDK, and the README links an authentication guide.

The registry's repository is microsoft/mcp in the microsoft organization (subfolder servers/Azure.Mcp.Server), whose README is titled "Azure MCP Server" with Microsoft's Azure logo, and the repository license names Microsoft Corporation (read 2026-10-31).
Listing on HistChat is not an endorsement or a security review. MCP servers can access data or perform actions, so review the source and permissions before connecting.
