Can I use HistChat for free?+
Yes. Free works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok and includes unlimited indexing and searches (showing the top 10 results per search), 3 folders, 3 saved prompts of up to 4,000 characters each, 10 Markdown/TXT/JSON exports each month, and 3 PDF exports each month (counted separately). It also includes Continue Here and Transfer, AI Usage, AI Activity and AI Recap, bulk delete, and sorting and filtering. Pro and Lifetime add unlimited search results, folders, and exports, 100 saved prompts of up to 12,000 characters each, plus bulk export, Preview & Edit, custom export branding, and Cloud Sync.
What's the difference between Monthly and Annual Pro?+
They include the same Pro workspace. Monthly is $7.99 per month. Annual is $59.99 per year (about $5.00/month), a 37% saving over paying monthly.
What does Lifetime include?+
Lifetime is a one-time $99 payment for HistChat Pro access for as long as the product is offered, including current Pro features and Pro updates.
Can I switch from Pro to Lifetime later?+
Yes. If you already have an active Pro plan, you can choose Lifetime from this pricing page and move to pay-once access. Your Pro subscription is then cancelled automatically, so it won't renew.
Do I need an account?+
The local extension features work without signing in. An account is needed for Pro and Lifetime plans and for Cloud Sync.
What is Cloud Sync?+
Cloud Sync is included with Pro and Lifetime. It syncs your folders, saved prompts, and which folder each conversation is in. Conversation contents are not synced to HistChat Cloud. Synced items are stored in your HistChat account. When you sign out, your folders and prompts stay on this browser and reappear when you sign back in.
Are my AI conversations uploaded to HistChat?+
No. Conversation contents stay on your device: they are indexed, searched, and exported locally, and they are not synced to HistChat Cloud.
Can I get a refund?+
Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime purchases are eligible for a 100% refund when you request it within 7 days of the original purchase date. After that, purchases are generally not refundable except where required by law. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not by itself create a refund.
