How can we help?

Help with the HistChat extension, your plan, billing, and your data. If your question isn't covered here, email us.

Contact us

Email histchat@numerbyte.com. It helps to include:

  • the email address on your HistChat account;
  • which AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok) and browser you are using; and
  • what happened and what you expected to happen.

Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or full payment card numbers.

Supported platforms

HistChat works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok in Google Chrome.

Common questions

My conversations aren't showing up.

Open HistChat on a tab of that AI platform while you are signed in to it. Syncing runs when you open the workspace, and a large history can take a few minutes. If a sync says it is paused, wait a few minutes and try again. HistChat can only read conversations from an AI account you are currently signed in to in this browser.

Search only shows 10 results.

The Free plan shows the top 10 results per search. Pro and Lifetime show all results.

I've used all my exports for this month.

Free includes 10 Markdown, text, or JSON exports each month, shared across all three formats, plus 3 separate PDF exports each month. Both allowances reset monthly. Pro and Lifetime have no export limits.

My plan still shows Free after I paid.

Make sure you are signed in to the same HistChat account you used at checkout, then reopen the extension. Your plan can take a few minutes to update after checkout, and you can also check it on your account page. If it still shows Free after a while, email us the address you used to purchase.

What does Cloud Sync sync, and how do I check it?

Cloud Sync is included with Pro and Lifetime. It syncs your folders, saved prompts, and which folder each conversation is in. Conversation contents are not synced to HistChat Cloud. Synced items are stored in your HistChat account, and local prompts and folders remain on this browser when you sign out. You can see your Cloud Sync status in the workspace's Usage & Limits panel.

My PDF export is missing characters.

PDF export can't render some non-Latin characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Cyrillic, Arabic, and emoji. Export to Markdown, text, or JSON instead, which keep every character.

I can't sign in, or I need to reset my password.

If you use Google sign-in, sign in with Google. Password reset by email is not available on the website yet: email us from the address on your account and we will help you regain access.

Billing and refunds

To manage or cancel a subscription, use Manage subscription in the HistChat extension popup (shown for active Monthly and Annual plans), or email us. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not by itself create a refund.

Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime purchases are eligible for a 100% refund when you request it within 7 days of the original purchase date. After that, purchases are generally not refundable except where required by law. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. To request one, email us the account email, the plan, and the approximate purchase date. See the Refund Policy and Terms for details, including how Lifetime works.

Privacy and data deletion requests

Account and data deletion is handled through support. There is no automated delete button yet. Email histchat@numerbyte.com from the email address on your account with "Data deletion request" in the subject, and tell us whether you want your whole HistChat account deleted or only your synced prompts and folders.

What to expect:

  • We may ask you to verify your identity and, if you have an active subscription, how you would like it handled.
  • A person handles each request, so deletion is not instant.
  • Records held by our payment provider are not covered, and data already stored in your browser by the extension is not removed by us. You can remove local data with your browser's controls or by removing the extension, subject to browser behavior.
  • If you also want a refund and you are within the 7-day window, mention it in the same email.

See the Privacy Policy for what HistChat stores and how it is handled.
