Before you connect

The plain https://mcp.supabase.com/mcp URL is neither limited to one project nor read-only. Supabase's docs advise setting project_ref and read_only, especially before pointing the server at production data.

Overview

The Supabase MCP server lets an assistant work with a Supabase account and its projects. Database tools list tables, run SQL and apply migrations, and further groups cover debugging with logs and advisors, Edge Functions, documentation search, account management and an experimental branching feature. The hosted endpoint at mcp.supabase.com signs you in with OAuth by default. Because the tools can reach real project data, Supabase's docs describe two URL parameters worth setting first: project_ref, which scopes the server to one project, and read_only, which runs queries as a read-only Postgres user.
