Overview

Notion hosts this MCP server itself, so connecting needs no local server: you point a compatible client at Notion's endpoint and authorize with OAuth. Once connected, an assistant can search Notion and connected sources, read pages, and create or update pages and databases that your account can access. The registry lists a streamable HTTP endpoint and an SSE endpoint. Notion also documents an open-source notion-mcp-server for running your own, but says that package is no longer actively maintained and recommends the remote server for most clients.

What it can do

  • Workspace owners manage client access in Settings → Notion MCP → Manage workspace clients.
  • An open-source notion-mcp-server exists for running your own, but it is no longer actively maintained and Notion recommends the remote server for most clients.

Registry name com.notion/mcp. Domain-based registry namespaces require proof of control of the domain (registry authentication docs, read 2026-10-30). Notion's developer documentation states that Notion MCP is a remote MCP server hosted by Notion.
